Dinosaurs, I don’t trust robots. They will eventually take over the world. 

So I need to rant to people that are not involved with this issue that I am currently having, rant will be somewhat long so please have some patience:

So last year was my first year of college, and it was on the other side of the state, so I was far away from my family; but I had some friends from high school go to the same school so it wasn’t that lonely. The college that I was going to only guarantees housing to students their first years or if they are a transfer student. Meaning that the rest of the students have to look for an apartment or rent a house in the city or at a nearby city. 

I waited to the last moment to sign a contract for a lease because I wasn’t sure if I was going to stay because of financial and family issues. I ended up signing lease contract for a year with a friend’s sibling. Lease would begin on Sept 1 and end Aug 31. It wasn’t until about mid August of when the rent was due that I found out that I wouldn’t be returning to school because the amount of financial aid that I was getting was not going to be enough, so I called up Tenant B and told them that I wasn’t going to be able to return to school this year, but that I would for someone to cover my half of the rent.

The apartment is a 2 bedroom apartment, one room is bigger than the other. Rent is due the end of the month. It was only a few days that I put up an ad online that someone responded that they were interested in the apartment and that they had the money to move in, but they would only be able to stay there for 2 quarters (Sept-March). I told them that it was fine, that they just needed to contact Tenant B as they would be sharing the apartment and they needed to get along. The other lease signers doesn’t tell me until end of August that they don’t want the person that I found because they want someone that would stay the full year. 

So person A is gone and I have to pawn off some things that I own to cover the rent. I continue to look for someone and about the first week of September I find someone who is willing to stay the full year. I call up the Tenant B and they don’t answer, I keep calling and texting them but they don’t reply. It isn’t until a few days later that they finally call me back and tell me that someone has already moved in.

So person B is gone. And I think that this is going to be the end of it, but is it? NO!!!

Other Tenant B gives me my money back since someone moved in and they paid. BUT, they only charge them half the rent since they moved in the middle of the month. I would’ve have been fine with that, but the thing that pisses me off the most if that Tenant B doesn’t even ask me if that ok, since it is my money. 

Fall, and Winter pass, no indication or calls from Tenant B that there are any problems.

I had managed to get a job as a sub, but that was only when they needed me. During the month of February I had worked a lot during that month and I decided to take my sister to the Motherland since we hadn’t been there for 3 years.

We left near the end of February and returned before the month was over. Tenant B does not tell me until near the end of March that they have moved out and no longer has money to pay for the rent and that I have to cover the rest of the lease. 

I told Tenant B that I had no money that all the money I had I had just spent, and the I wouldn’t have any money until the end of April, when I got paid. In the meantime I was looking for someone to sublease the room to, and Tenant B tells me mid-April that they found someone to move in but that Tenant B  had told that person that they would only have to pay half of the half rent. Payday comes around I give Tenant B the half of the half rent. But then that the rent is due in 10 days and that they need the same amount again. 

I told Tenant B  that I had no money, which was not a lie since I hadn’t work much the past month and my check ended up being the amount of money they needed. I continue to look for someone and I find 2 people(Guy A and GuyB) that are interested, but neither end up moving in. I did not know this, I only knew that Guy B, whom I spoke to decided not to move in, because he told me. As for Guy A, I gave his contact info to Tenant B because at the time that I received his response I was in class, so I wanted Tenant B to talk to guy A as soon as possible. 

Tenant B manages to contact Guy A, and Guy A says he wants to move in. (This is around the first week of May).

Tenant B does not fucking tell me until 3 days ago that Guy A never moved in. That Guy A was ignoring Tenant B’s texts. WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU RESOLVE WITH TEXT MESSAGES. This entire time I was under the influence that Guy A had moved in since Tenant B never told me otherwise. 

SO now Tenant B is expecting me to pay by the end of May $300 for the rent of June, because Tenant B  paid the $300 for the month of May. 

Am I wrong for telling Tenant B  off and saying that it is their own fault that this happened because they were the ones that refused to allow the 2 other people that I had lined up to move in.

AND another thing the person that Tenant B got as my replacement told him he was only staying for 2 quarters also, but is now staying the whole year. 

Normally I am a well-mannered person, as well as level headed, but Tenant B was adamant that this was my fault, and that they are not to blame. So I started yelling at them over the phone. So in my opinion it is safe to say that our friendship is over and as is the one with their sibling.

PS I told Tenant B  that this was the last time that I was giving them money and then I hung up on them.
